 Submitting to directories
When submitting to directories how many words/characters should you use in the description? I have only been using about 25 words and now think this may be way to short?

 Effective
It will be effective if you'll use keyword rich description when submitting to directories...

some directory submission sites do have 250-500 max words for the description.
but even you enter 25 words to the description as long as the keywords is there it is ok.

If your description covers what your site is about, that is what is most important. Hopefully, the person reading the description will see that your resource is worth viewing.

What's the benefit to along description? If you're only trying to get a backlink, then all that really matters is the link and the words IN the link.
If you want to get listed because you're hoping to direct traffic, then you need to write a compelling (and I'd suggest short) description of your site.

yeap, you are right.
you should concentrate more on what title you are using for your submission.
The title should be your main keyword on which you wish to rank your website on Google and other search engines.
