More than likely..
Posts that don't contribute to the discussion get deleted.. Do it enough times and get banned..

when you make posts like "yeah thats a good idea it should work" when the previous question was someone asking for a solution to something, it clearly shows that you didnt read the post and indicates you just replied for the count. and more often that not, will result in a delete and at some point a ban
when your posts appear to be made to get your post count up you might find you have to work doubly hard. and if you do ever make it to enough posts to add a signature...well...it might not be there long.
hope that helps

Not that we've ever let someone fight to 50 posts and then deleted one before banning them.. ;)

Well here is a post I that is completely frivolous. I can't stop staring at Kay's Avatar. As I scroll down the page that is a magnet. Seems to me I should put one of those one everyone of my sites with adsense next to it.

if the domain isnt yours you wont be able to access that data martinking, the closest you can get to monitor traffic to other domains within particular industries is using hitwise but it costs (you can purchase full use or buy individual reports)
Additionally google analytics has the option to share your data with other users in your industry. This requires permission (but I expect it is defaulted to yes for new users!)

 everyone SEO???
Hi all,
New to the site but love it already.
Quick question.
In your expert opinions, how many people out there with online businesses actually perform the basic SEO techniques well?? I mean, is all this stuff just standard play?
And also, if all the good tips can be found in forums etc., how do any consultants gain business? I mean, are there some crazy SEO secrets out there hiding? And is SEO alone enough to give your online business a kick to profits?
Thanks everyone...look forward to reading your comments!!

IMO far too few webmaster owners of small businesses do basic onpage SEO well if at all.
So how do we get business? Well from busy people who want an expert to take charge of their optimization for a start, and often from people who have been burned by fly by night SEOs in the past.

At my day job, we’re contacted every now and then by clients asking about search engine positioning and optimisation. Most of the time the client has been approached by an SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) consultant trying to talk them into paying lots of money for search engine optimisation. The SEO firms promise “guaranteed top results” and “submission to 500 000 search engines and directories”.
Many site owners are regularly contacted by scam companies of this kind, and it’s understandable that many take the bait and start paying for “top results and submission to everything”. After all, who doesn’t want their site to be highly ranked by search engines?
In an attempt to help a few people avoid paying for unnecessary search engine optimisation, I’d like to share what I have done to achieve very good search engine rankings, for this site as well as for clients’ sites.

in that case it's probably best to use a wordpress blog, no need for html knowledge to do that and most seo-related tasks will be done automated by th4e blog system,
it's simply a very, very handy system!

That was not spamming. A spammer will not be sitting with 15 post counts for 3 months. I saw that just 3 days ago, so i commented at it...
Trying to increase your post counts huh..!!! Joined just today(19/09/09)... Hmmm if you post like this your count will never increase after 49+ .... There are great chaps here in this forum and they will be always watching our "moves". Okay i don't want to go on with this conversation... Go Check in this "Great ways to get banned at Web Workshop" http://www.webworkshop.net/seoforum/vie ... ?t=26380...
@admin, moderators and advanced members - Sorry. I know these conversation are unnecessary but I felt this is the right place to reply

richermartyn: People who come here and tell us they took money for SEO jobs and did not have a clue how to do the job, are generally not going to get much help. We call them scammers or frauds.

SEO is a continuous process.
There are a lot of new websites everyday and some maybe targetting the same keywords as yours. So don't worry too much if your SERP moved to the next page the next day. Just go on and continue your Link building process.

Spamming can really hurt your website rank. I suggest to check your backlinks.
